The Sungrow SG12RT-P2 is a 12kW three-phase grid-tie string inverter for 1000Vdc systems — the top model in the P2 generation of Sungrow's RT platform, built for larger homes and small commercial rooftops.
Two independent MPPTs track across a 160–1000V window and start from 180V, with two strings on the first tracker and one on the second. Max PV input current reaches 48A (32A/16A), supporting high-current bifacial and large-format modules. Recommended PV input is 18kWp against 12kW rated output — 1.5x oversizing headroom. Max efficiency 98.30%, European efficiency 97.90%.
Built-in PID recovery reverses potential-induced degradation overnight, smart IV curve scanning diagnoses underperforming strings remotely, and per-string current monitoring flags faults early. Optimizer compatibility is available as an option.
Protection includes an arc fault circuit interrupter, Type II surge protection on DC and AC sides, and a C5 anti-corrosion rating. The IP65 enclosure uses natural cooling with no fans to service, operating from -25°C to +60°C up to 4000m altitude.
At 18kg it mounts on a single wall bracket, with MC4 DC connectors up to 6mm² and plug-and-play AC termination.
Monitoring runs over WLAN, Ethernet, RS485, DI and DO. Certified to IEC/EN 62109-1/2, IEC 61727, IEC 62116, AS/NZS 4777.2:2020, VDE-AR-N-4105, EN 50549-1, G98, G99, CEI-021, DEWA and MEA/PEA.
