Sungrow SG125HV String Inverter for 1500 Vdc System

The Sungrow SG125HV is a 125kVA three-phase string inverter for 1500Vdc systems, designed as a virtual central solution for utility-scale solar plants. A patented five-level topology delivers 98.9% max efficiency, 98.7% European and 98.5% CEC efficiency — among the highest in the industry — and the unit holds full 125000VA output without derating right up to 50°C. The 1500V DC and 600V AC architecture lowers initial system cost by reducing cable sizing and DC-side losses. A 1 to 5MW power block design cuts medium-voltage transformer count and labour on large sites, and a DC/AC ratio up to 1.5 allows aggressive array oversizing to flatten the generation curve. Operating as a virtual central inverter, it combines the O&M simplicity of central architecture with the redundancy of string design — a single failure takes out a fraction of the plant rather than a whole block. Compact and light at 76kg for its class, it installs without heavy lifting equipment. A single MPPT tracks 860–1450V with 148A input current and 240A short-circuit capability. The IP65 (NEMA 4X) enclosure uses smart forced air cooling, operating from -25°C to +60°C up to 4000m altitude. OT or DT terminals accept up to 185mm² on both DC and AC sides. Monitoring runs over LED, Bluetooth app and RS485. Certified to both IEC and UL safety, EMC and grid standards including IEC 62109-1/-2, IEC 61727, IEC 62116, UL 1741, UL 1741 SA, IEEE 1547, IEEE 1547.1, CSA C22.2 107.1-01 and California Rule 21, with LVRT, HVRT, active and reactive power control and power ramp rate control.
