Sungrow SH20T Hybrid Three Phase Inverter

The Sungrow SH20T is a 20kW three-phase hybrid inverter for high-voltage battery storage, built for larger homes and small commercial sites needing both solar self-consumption and backup. Three independent MPPTs — unusual at this power class — track across a 150–950V window, taking two strings on the first two trackers and one on the third, for 80A total input current at 32A/32A/16A. Max efficiency 98.2%, European efficiency 97.8%. The high-voltage battery architecture spans 100–700V, cutting conduction losses compared with 48V systems and allowing larger storage capacity without heavy cabling. Backup output reaches 43000W maximum, with peak output up to 36500VA for 10 seconds — enough to start motors, pumps and compressors during an outage. Type II surge protection is fitted on DC and AC sides, with battery input reverse polarity protection, leakage current protection and anti-islanding built in. The transformerless topology on both solar and battery sides keeps efficiency high. At 40kg in a 620 × 480 × 245mm body, it mounts on a wall bracket with MC4-compatible PV connectors up to 6mm² and plug-and-play battery connectors up to 10mm². IP65 rated for outdoor installation.
